Mark & Tania’s Markovina Wedding

Despite the odd passing shower earlier in the day – we were treated to a beautiful Autumn afternoon.  Perfect for Mark & Tania’s gorgeous wedding.  Preparations began early with the talented team of Lexia & Kaitlin on hair & makeup while Mark & his groomsmen had a fairly chilled out morning.    Everyone was looking amazing and Tania was just a stunning bride!  After a lovely ceremony in the Markovina gardens and a few quick photos around their grounds we whisked Mark & Tania off to Muriwai beach in the hope of catching a beautiful sunset.   It was lovely and still which is unusual for the west coast.   We had a bit of time to relax and walk (hike!) up above the gannet colony before the sun started to dip away and everything went orange.  We headed back (while we could still see where we were going!) and once back at Markovina we left Mark & Tania to party the night away with friends and family.

Mark & Tania – Thank you for having us along to share your beautiful day with you.   We wish you both happiness in your new adventure together.  Here’s a few sneak peeks with many more to share with you soon.  Enjoy!

Gavin & Serina’s Zen Gardens Wedding

We love photographing weddings in Autum!  After daylight savings, there’s something about the gorgeous warm, late afternoon light.   This April so far we’ve had better weather than we’ve had all summer – which has worked out well for those that planned April weddings.   After a break over Easter weekend to relax and catch up on life in general, we were back into it full swing with Gavin & Serina’s wedding.   A small intimate wedding out at the stunning Zen Gardens.   The Zen Gardens is a beautiful all in one venue with plenty of variety for gorgeous photos.   After having visited there in 2011, we were excited to photograph for the first time there.   Serina and her bridesmaids got ready at their home in rural Papakura, and were looking fabulous.   While Gavin and his groomsmen utilised the onsite accommodation to get ready at the venue.   After a beautiful ceremony, where I’m sure many a tear was shed, we then spent a bit of time wandering around the expansive grounds making the most of the last bit of daylight.  As the sun set over Auckland City, it was time to head inside for a delicious meal and some great speeches.    Gavin & Serina wanted to head out to the lake for some evening shots before the dancing got underway, with a bit of encouragement from their bridal party from up on the balcony.

Gavin & Serina – we hope you had an amazing day and we thank you for allowing us to capture it.    Here’s a sneak preview of a few favourites with many more to come.

James & Andrea’s Wedding at The Wharf

The nerves and excitement were building in the respective getting ready locations – the morning of James & Andrea’s wedding.  With James and his groomsmen at the Amora Hotel in the city, and Andrea and her bridesmaids alternating between Hair & Body Bliss in Mt Eden and Phoenix Cosmetics in Kingsland.   Everyone was looking fantastic.  The morning went by quickly and before long we were at St Benedicts Church in Newton to witness a beautiful ceremony along with family and friends of James & Andrea.   For the first of our locations, we headed to the Clock Tower of the University before heading up to the Auckland Museum.    The museum had since closed, which meant the crowds had dispersed and once another bridal party had left we virtually had the place to ourselves which was great.   Many laughs were shared with James, Andrea & their fabulous bridal party, who were more than willing to entertain our crazy ideas when needed.  Back at the amazing The Wharf just on the north side of the harbour bridge, the guests were arriving and being seated for dinner.  While their dinner orders were taken, we took the opportunity for a few more photos around the Wharf including the views back to Auckland City.   Before heading home and leaving James & Andrea to enjoy the rest of the night, partying with their DJ Nick, we snuck in a couple more evening shots with the harbour bridge and  city illuminated.   A great way to end a beautiful day!    We sure you had an amazing day James & Andrea and we can’t wait to share more of your images with you.   Thank you for the opportunity to share your gorgeous day with you.   Safe travels back to Melbourne!

Portia’s Newborn Portraits

Beautiful wee Portia came to visit today and what a gorgeous wee poppet she is.   She was alert and determined to not drift off to sleep, but eventually she settled and closed her eyes and off she went.

Portia is just under 2 weeks new and it’s always so special to capture babies at this age.   She’s a special little girl and I could just tell her mummy and daddy were absolutely besotted!  Here’s a quick sneak peek of a few favourites.

Brad & Hollie’s Red Barn Matamata Wedding

After Mike & Tania’s wedding the day before, we headed home, unpacked and began our backing up rituals, while then getting ready for Brad & Hollie’s wedding da.   While most of the upper North Island had rubbish weather – we headed south down to Matamata to the stunning Red Barn.  A gorgeous location set out in the country away from the hustle and bustle.   The rain held off until after everyone was well inside at the reception which was perfect.   Hollie’s vision for the day was bright and colourful and ensuring that everyone was relaxed and having fun.   I think all of those were pretty well covered including a fabulous bridal party to support them through the day and a lovely ceremony officiated by Ewen Gilmour.     First stop for our location shoot was down in Tirau near the old railway water tower and the main truck line.   Afterwards it was back to the Red Barn with their stunning tree lined driveway before heading back to the guests who were seated ready  in the Barn itself.   We headed back to Auckland after some heartfelt & entertaining speeches and a fabulous first dance, leaving Brad & Hollie to party the night away.

Brad & Hollie – thank you for inviting us to share your wonderful day with you.   Hollie you were such a beautiful bride, and the whole bridal party looked fabulous!   Such a beautiful couple and we wish you a lifetime of happiness and love.  We have many more images to share with you soon, but in the meantime here’s a few favourites.  Enjoy!
